A comprehensive programme of Physical Education is on offer at Queen’s. A healthy balance is struck between promoting life-long fitness habits through a range of activities and encouraging the most talented athletes to reach their full potential. All students are fully supported, regardless of whether their priority is competition or recreation.
The sports curriculum is varied and interesting: core values of leadership, fair play, strategic thinking and teamwork are constant themes. Students in the older years choose the activities they wish to participate in.
Our Physical Education department is overseen by our Director of Sport, Mrs Emma Croker, a member of the Rugby World Cup winning England team in 2014, and our team of dedicated Sports teachers includes a current semi-professional footballer, a netball specialist and two exceptional dancers who are both qualified ISTD instructors. We have several pupils who represent their country at their chosen sport and we are practised at supporting their training regimes.

Fixtures
We compete in both local, regional, and national competitions in a variety of sports including netball, football, swimming, gymnastics, cheer leading, dance, cross country, and athletics. Last year we were Senior Cross Country Champions, were awarded 26 medals at the Westminster Athletics Championships (with three pupils qualifying for the London Athletics Championships), came fifth in a national Netball competition and won the London region Cheerleading competition. We also have many pupils who compete in sports outside of school ranging from local club competitors to Olympic hopefuls.
Facilities
We have a well-equipped gym on-site and are able to make good use of excellent facilities nearby. In the Michaelmas Term, we make use of the facilities at Paddington Recreation Ground for our afternoon games lessons and netball fixtures. During the Lent Term, we take our pupils to Finsbury Park to use their athletics stadium which has a 400m synthetic track, a long jump pit and various throwing areas. We also hold our annual Sports Day there. Throughout the year we use a wide range of facilities at Regent's Park to run clubs and host fixtures. Additionally, we use various local facilities to offer pupils a wider range of sporting experience both in lessons and during extracurricular clubs and fixtures. These include Marshall Street Leisure Centre for swimming and Move Your Frame for fitness classes.
Extra-curricular clubs
PE practitioners and specialist external coaches create a full and varied programme. Squad training feeds into both individual and team competitions against nearby schools, with Queen’s students also representing Westminster at the London Youth Games and at an elite level.
